Artist's Comments
Both my wife Betty's parents were dutch. Her father was born to parents, who'd recently arrived in America from Holland. Her mother emigrated, from Nederland, with her parents and older sisters, at the age of 10. Dutch culture has played a large role in our lives. One of our most memorable European excursions, was the 2 weeks we spent in Holland. In fact the wooden shoes in this painting are MY wooden shoes, purchased during our stay.
