Artist's Comments
This piece was executed for an invitational painting show at the Forest Lawn Museum, in Glendale, CA, titled Leading Ladies: From Fantasy to Reality. I know sounds strange, an art museum in Forest Lawn, but the reality is it's one of the grandest spaces I've ever been privileged to display my work in. Their permanent collection includes a huge number of Remington bronzes and stunning deco bronzes. The curator, at the time, Joan Adan (she's since left that position) had mounted some of the most exciting shows in L.A., usually having to do with art from the recording and film businesses. Anyway I created this portrait of Bjork, for the occasion.
