Artist's Comments
Another painting created during a Yosemite Western Artists plein air (in the open air) outing. This time our location was actually the Gertrude Schoolhouse, in Ahwahnee, CA, where we meet each Friday to paint from a live model. But this day instead of being inside painting, we were doing it outside. I found this old storage shed, which sits to the right of the schoolhouse, to be the most interesting subject. You can see the shadow cast by the schoolhouse, on the left side of the painting.
