Artist's Comments

I began this painting as a demonstration, during a painting class I was teaching. I'd set up the still life for the students and, beginning with a blank canvas, up in front of the class, was showing them the steps I take in building a painting...the steps I was suggesting they attempt. The painting wasn't finished, by any means, when the class ended, but it was far enough along that my wife fell in love with it and encouraged me to take it to completion.
